Pittsburgh Botanical Garden Exhibit

Hey Dahlia Enthusiasts,

Thanks to everyone for participating in our Virtual Show.  The results of the People’s Choice will be coming out soon.

I want to remind everyone that we will put on an Exhibition at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden (if you need directions, their address according to the website is 799 Pinkerton Run Road, Oakdale, Pennsylvania) this Saturday, September 26, 2020 through Sunday, September 27, 2020.  We are going to be setting up on the Weisbrod Learning Pavilion in their Garden of the Five Senses.  We can start setting up around 8:00 a.m. and the Botanic Garden will open up at 9:00 a.m.  If you are bringing blooms, I would request that you be at the Garden by 11:00 a.m. so you can stage your flowers.

We will be supplying all of the materials, i.e. vases and wedges, that you will need to stage your blooms.  You just need to bring your flowers in water and a pocketknife. Also, there will be plenty of growers there who can give you advice should you have any questions.

Just so you are aware, the Pavilion is up the hill.  I have been told that the horticulturalists can give us and our blooms a ride in their carts if we can catch them.

As a benefit of putting on the display, the Botanic Garden has agreed to provide all Society Members who bring flowers free admission to the Gardens.  We just need to give them a total number of people who will be coming by Thursday, September 24.  If you are interested in bringing flowers, just send me an email (markefloyd@gmail.com) by Thursday afternoon.

I hope to see everyone there.
